Hunt area maps
WGFD hunt-area boundary layers from the WGFD Open Data ArcGIS services, simplified for the web. WGFD states these are for overview use only and not legal boundaries; the written boundary descriptions in the regulations take precedence. Layer vintages differ from the 2026 draw year.

Preference points
Per WGFD (wgfd.wyo.gov/hunting-trapping/preference-points, checked 2026-10-23): full-price elk, deer and antelope points are for nonresidents only; moose and full-price bighorn sheep points are for residents and nonresidents. No points exist for reduced-price cow/calf or doe/fawn licenses. Mountain goat, bison and turkey have no preference points listed.
Tag type classification
Tag type (any / antlered / antlerless) is read from the start of WGFD’s hunt description, which WGFD truncates to ~20 characters. Antlerless: ANTLERLESS…, COW OR CALF…, DOE OR FAWN…, EWE OR LAMB, ANY FEMALE…, or any cow/calf, doe/fawn, ewe/lamb, female report. Antlered: ANTLERED…, ANY RAM…. Any: ANY <species>…, LIMITED QUOTA, ANY…. “Other (check regs)”: SPIKE OR ANTLERLESS, GENERAL / REGION x GENERAL licenses, and anything else — not guessed.

Method & limits
- PDFs converted with pdftotext and parsed by script; an independent QC script re-checks random rows against the PDF text, internal consistency, live WGFD fee/deadline pages and all links on every build.
- "Estimate" = licenses ÷ first-choice applicants, calculated by this site.
- Badges: Great 75%+, Good 40–75%, Long shot 10–40%, Very long shot under 10%.
- Some WGFD point-level rows show more licenses issued than listed remaining quota; shown as published.
- Not yet included: spring turkey, crane, pheasant, beaver, leftover draw, landowner reports before 2024 (WGFD did not post them), years before 2021 (not on WGFD's page).
- Quotas of 9998/9999 appear in some WGFD reports (e.g. general licenses); shown as published.
